Channel5 and the City of Memphis have reported it is a new system they are trying out. This is legitimate. Not a scam.
Stated this is the emergency management services of memphis shelby county. This is the number that will contact you in the event of an emergency. Press 1 to be added to our list....
Left voicemail saying it was emergency management system for (insert city) & to press 1 to confirm. Also indicated twice it was a test. Followed seconds later by a text saying the same thing
I received 3 calls in 1 minute. Every time I sent the call to voice mail it called before I put the phone down. On the third call I did answer an like an idiot I pressed 1.
